Kezialain Farm, is an historic national bicentennial organic family farm of nine generations, offering organic grass fed beef, is located at 28 Keziah Lane, Westtown NY 10998 in Orange County.
From Kezialain: "Our farm is a special and beautiful place to us, and to the people who come here to enjoy it with us. Kezialain Farm, located between the Hudson and Delaware Rivers in New York, has been in our family for over 240 years. It is one of the oldest family farms in New York State. We love and care for this land that has supported our family for eight generations.
"We raise certified organic cattle that are totally grass fed. They eat the farm’s lush pasture and the hay that comes from our land, all of it certified organic. They live a healthy, low stress life, eating only what our fields naturally grow. The land and the cattle support each other so we do not need to truck in grain, fertilizers or chemicals. The result is a great meat that’s better for people, the cattle, the land and is earth friendly.
"Surrounded by 170 acres of beautiful scenery and with a passion for healthy living we decided to share our family farm with you by providing special events, workshops and retreats. "Our events range from educating our community on sustainable farming practices, to healthy eating with foods from our organic gardens and wild foraging, as well as a Nature Camp for kids and so much more."
Camp Program
The camp program focuses on values of respect and stewardship for the environment and natural world. Camp nurtures balanced, confident, sensitive children with a deep awareness of our connection to nature. Through Hands-On Experiences, children Ages 4 - 15 are encouraged to explore the earth and all her treasures. Outdoor skills, arts & crafts, music, nature study, folklore of many cultures, green lifestyles, primitive technology, canoeing, and cooperative games are featured.
The camp’s location on the working historic Keziahlain farm offers campers the opportunity to observe and participate in gardening, farm animal care and the seasonal activities that are the focus of life on the organic farm.
Children Learn
Outdoor and Wilderness Survival skills enhance children’s ability to feel comfortableand confident in the natural world.
Activities such as fire building, shelter construction, tracking techniques, plant identification, over-night camping and outdoor cooking are highlights of the camp program.
