The Frank Masterson Memorial Recreation Area is located on Lockwood Basin, the outlet of Washington Lake on Little Britain Road, Newburgh, NY in Orange County.

From City of Newburgh: "Washington Lake forms part of the City of Newburgh's reservoir system under the jurisdiction of the City of Newburgh Water Department. Fishing and recreational programs are administered by the Recreation Department. The lake contains trout, pickerel, and several varieties of pan fish."

"The park was dedicated in 1974 to honor a dream Frank Masterson had of a place where veterans, the disabled, and senior citizens could go to fish. After Masterson's death in 1973, James Slack, Jr., decided to do everything he could to fulfill his friend's dream."

"The flagpole, built, donated & installed by Joseph Presutti, was dedicated November 6, 1994, by Post 386, Catholic War Veterans of America."

Restrictions
Fishing is allowed from shore ONLY in Washington Lake from 8:00am to 4:00 pm.
